It
all
started
in
back
in
1999,
I
had
purchased
a
few
years
earlier
an
HOn3
layout
from
Laurie
Green
MMR
this
was
his
old
exhibition
layout
of
the
Rio
Grande
Southern
at
Vance
Junction.
A
chance
meeting
with
David
Fletcher
at
a
train
show
changed
the
direction
of
what
scale
I
wanted
to
model,
G
Scale
opened
up
new
ideas
and
planted
the
seed
for
my
new
RGS
inspired
model
railway.
Garden
Railroading
-
a
whole
new
way
to
look
at
model
trains.
David
sold
me
a
few
bits
of
G
scale
rolling
stock
and
a
couple
of
Bachmann
4-6-0
steam
locos
to
get
me
started.
David
is
an
avid
modeller
in
G
scale
and
inspires
people
all
over
the
world
to
continue
to
modelling
in
G
scale
and
has
provided master classes for the building of various G scale models.

GALLERY
No Hope & Broke Garden Railway 2002 - 2006
I
started
with
the
help
of
a
few
friends
my
first
incarnation
of
the
No
Hope
&
Broke
Garden
Railway
in
2002
and
the
photos
shown
throughout
this
site
reflect
this
layout.
In
2006
I
moved
house
and
packed
up
the
garden
railway.
In
2016
after
10
years
as
a
collector
of
model
trains
I
have
finally
decided
to
rebuild
the
No
Hope
&
Broke
Garden
Railway
at
my
new
home
in
the
foothills
of
the
Mount
Dandenongs
in
Victoria
Australia.
I
have
approx
500
feet
of
rail
and
will
be
purchasing
more
from
Col
at
trainsforthegarden
,
Col
is
the
supplier
of
AusRail
that
I
use
on
my
garden
railway.
The
layout
will
be
just
a
simple
loop
around
the
house
of
approximately
700
feet.
I
will
try
and
keep
all grades to no more than 2.5%, wish me luck achieving this goal.
A golden spike on a model railway is never truly the completion of the layout, it is just the start
of the finer detailing to come
- Kevin
Who knows what direction the hobby will take me in – just so long as I continue to enjoy it,
continue to meet other modellers and have heaps of fun doing it.

If at first you don’t succeed at Garden Railroading - get a bigger shovel.

Bachmann 2-8-0
This is my first Bachmann Spectrum Steam
Locomotive. I had David Fletcher modified this
Bachmann loco to represent a fictitious locomotive
belonging to the RGS.
AristoCraft 2-8-0
This is my first AristoCraft 2-8-0 again modified by
David Fletcher to represent a C-19 on the RGS.
Accucraft RGS Goose #2
My First purchase of a brass constructed
locomotive.
Berlyn Goose # 6
This is my first purchase of a highly detailed brass
locomotive made by the Berlyn Locomotive Works.
Bachmann 2-8-0
This is a highly modified Bachmann 2-8-0. David
Fletcher modified this to represent a K-27
Locomotive on the RGS.
Bachmann Goose #1
Bachmann made this Spectrum quality goose a few
years ago, and of course I had to have it for my
collection.
